Kinkakuji in Kyoto

In Kyoto, Japan there is a temple called Kinkakuji or the Golden Pavilion.  It is beautiful to visit all year round!  I love the cherry blossoms in the Spring, but I also love the leaves in the Fall.  If you have the chance to visit Kyoto, this is a must see.  That being said, this is also one of the major tourist spots in Kyoto so be prepared for crowds no matter when you go!

I have visited Kinkakuji in Kyoto several times, and I am always impressed by the beauty and serenity of this temple complex.  There are many web sites you can visit that contain useful information in English, here is one and here is another that I think are helpful.

 My first visit to Kinkakuji was for a "Flat Stanley."
"Flat Stanley" is a way for children to learn about the world, here is some general info.
